Băile Tușnad

Romania’s smallest town, nestled in the volcanic embrace of the Carpathians — a century and a half of spa culture, healing mineral waters and a European model of sustainable ecotourism.

Băile Tușnad lies in eastern Transylvania, in the southern part of the Ciuc Basin along the Olt valley — between the Bodoc and Harghita mountains. Although it is Romania’s smallest town, its ecological and touristic significance far exceeds its size.

A Ciomatu (Csomád) Mountains vulkáni utóélete — a mofetták, ásványvizek és a Saint Anne Lake — az 1842-es alapítás óta a gyógyturizmus alapja. Ma a város egyszerre a fenntartható ökoturizmus és az ember–vadvilág együttélés (Bear-Smart) európai modellje, és a Tusványosi Nyári Szabadegyetem révén a kárpát-medencei politikai párbeszéd egyik legfontosabb helyszíne.
