Fontana Spa and Balneo is a modern wellness and treatment centre in the heart of Borsec, offering relaxation, regeneration and professional treatments over more than 3000 square metres.
The complex is divided into two main sections:
🌿 Spa & Wellness section — the place for relaxation and rest, with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, a salt room, a fitness room and relaxation areas.
⚕️ Balneo (Treatment Centre) — balneotherapy treatments under medical supervision: peloidotherapy (mud packs), phytotherapy (plant extracts), apitherapy (bee-product treatments), hydrotherapy, mofetta.
Fontana blends traditional Borsec medicine (mineral-water cures, the mofetta) with modern wellness experiences. Some balneo treatments can be reimbursed by the Romanian national health insurance fund (CNAS) with a referral.

A place for rest and refreshment
🏊 Indoor pools (year-round): adult and children's pools with regular water — ensuring pleasant relaxation in every season.
☀️ Outdoor pools: open-air pools with regular and heated water — especially popular in summer.
🧖 Sacred (ritual) bath: adults only — relaxation pool, 2 regular-water pools, 2 dry saunas, 2 mineral-water pools, heated seats and a relaxation area. Extra charge: 15 RON.
🔥 Saunas: dry and steam saunas of various temperatures and types — the basis of the hot-cold contrast cure.
🌿 Speciality — hay, herbal and aromatic baths: "improves sleep, reduces stress and anxiety, eases chronic pain and joint inflammation, lowers blood-sugar levels."
💪 Fitness room: use is included in the entry ticket.
Professional balneotherapy
In the Balneo section, the rehabilitation, physical medicine and balneology specialist performs a clinical-biological-functional assessment before drawing up the treatment plan. The assessment consists of a general clinical examination, a local examination (of the locomotor system) and paraclinical investigations (MRI imaging, laboratory tests).
Mofetta
The complex hosts the best-known developed mofetta in the Gheorgheni region. Carbon-dioxide gas treatment — for cardiovascular diseases.
Peloidotherapy
Mud packs — application of therapeutic mud for joint and musculoskeletal complaints. The effect of peloid is invaluable.
Phytotherapy
Plant-extract treatments — therapy with medicinal herbs and extracts. Natural and effective.
Apitherapy
Alpine honey treatments — use of bee products (honey, propolis, royal jelly, beeswax). Strengthening in effect.
Hydrotherapy
Water-based treatments — cure-style use of Borsec mineral water through drinking, bathing and inhalation.
Paraffin packs
Warm paraffin for musculoskeletal complaints — effective in treating joint inflammation and muscle pain.
The Borsec mofetta — a Szekler Land speciality
🌋 The mofetta is one of Szekler Land's health-tourism specialities — a natural carbon-dioxide gas emanation, developed for therapeutic use. It lies 700 metres from the Fairy Garden Bath and is today accessible inside the Fontana complex.

~110 RON (weekend) — full day. Includes indoor pools, saunas and use of the fitness room.
Children under 6
FREE — family-friendly offer. The complex's child-friendly pools welcome the little ones.
Group discount
For groups over 10 people — 5-10 RON discount on the ticket. Ideal for school groups and tour coaches.
Sacred bath
+15 RON extra charge — adults only. Separate section with relaxation pools.
Towel rental
10 RON — quick-drying terry towel. Handy if you are staying only briefly.
Bathrobe rental
15 RON — bathrobe — for comfortable changing. Part of the wellness experience.
