Modern wellness at the foot of the mountains
The Bánffy Wellness Centre is one of Toplița's most modern investments — a facility built by the town hall and owned by the municipality, located on Magura Street next to the historic Bánffy Baths. It opened its doors in 2015 and is the area's only indoor thermal wellness complex.
The centre offers: indoor thermal pool, whirlpool (jacuzzi), wet sauna, dry sauna, salt room, plus an outdoor pool in summer. The standard ticket allows a 3-hour stay — plenty of time to try everything.
The facility is especially attractive in winter: after cold mountain days, relaxing in warm thermal water and the peppermint-scented saunas are guaranteed to warm you up. The wellness centre reopened in November 2024, and the town hall promises continuous operation going forward.

What does the centre offer?
With the 3-hour ticket you can use everything without limits, except the saunas and the whirlpool, where for health reasons there is a 20-minute limit — the recommended duration for the wellness experience.
Indoor thermal pool
Unlimited use for the duration of the ticket. Perfect for swimming and relaxing, especially in the cold winter months. The heart and main attraction of the centre.
Whirlpool (jacuzzi)
20 minutes per session. Relaxation in bubbling, hydromassage-warm water — relieves tension and improves circulation. A classic element of the wellness experience.
Dry sauna
20 minutes per session. Finnish-style dry sauna at high temperature — with peppermint-scented aromatherapy. Detoxifying effect.
Wet sauna (steam bath)
20 minutes per session. High-humidity, lower-temperature sauna — gentle on the airways, excellent against bronchitis and the common cold.
Salt room
Unlimited use. Salt-coated walls release salt particles into the air — excellent for treating respiratory problems, allergies and asthma. Both relaxing and therapeutic.
Outdoor pool (in summer)
Summer season only. Alongside the indoor wellness there is also a smaller outdoor pool, with a view towards the Călimani Mountains.

Did you know?
The Bánffy Wellness Centre was one of the Toplița town hall's most important investments — intended to become a major recreation and tourist hub in the region, offering visitors a year-round indoor wellness experience.
The building opened in 2015, but thermal water only reached the pools from April 2017 — until then it operated with cold-water pools only. Since the reopening in November 2024, the centre has been in continuous operation.
A special feature of the wellness centre is the salt room — salt-coated walls release salt particles into the air, helping treat respiratory problems, allergies and asthma. As a standalone facility, this is rare in the region.
The Bánffy Wellness Centre is not the same as the traditional Bánffy Baths — although it bears the Bánffy name and stands on the same plot, the two are facilities with different owners and operators.
